Period of Concentration: Metastability, ageing, and anomalous diffusion: Stochastic and nonlinear effects in long term dynamics
May 09 - 21, 2005
Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences
The topic of the concentration period are different aspects of randomness in long term dynamics of of complex systems from different areas of science. These include stochastic perturbations of nonlinear dynamical systems, dynamic phase transitions, and dynamics of disordered and glassy systems. The goal is to exhibit common features and to expose different methods traditionally used in the different areas. In particular, we want to bring together and compare analytic and probabilistic methods in dynamics with the aim to tackle challenging open problems.
