  Error estimates for control of the instationary Navier-Stokes system
M. Hinze (Technische Universität Dresden)

We present a general mathematical frame for proving existence and convergence results for discretized nonlinear equations and adapt optimal control problems for the instationary Navier-Stokes equations to this setting. We prove existence of discrete finite element solutions in neighborhoods of non-degenerate continuous solutions and provide error estimates for the discrete controls in terms of the finite element grid size. Finally we present a numerical example that confirms the theoretical results.
