  Rapid solution of parabolic equations in high dimensions

We analyze the deterministic numerical solution of parabolic equations in tex2html_wrap_inline13. Using hp-discontinuous Galerkin timestepping and sparse tensor products of spline wavelet bases of degree tex2html_wrap_inline17 in space with meshwidth tex2html_wrap_inline19 and tex2html_wrap_inline21 degrees of freedom, we show how for T>0 an approximate solution can be computed to accuracy tex2html_wrap_inline25 in log-linear complexity with respect to N.
