The numerical solution of the Plateau problem for minimal surfaces of higher topological type. Part I: Annulus type surfaces

Abstract

We construct minimal surfaces of annulus type and describe the general set-up for a numerical algorithm for producing higher genus minimal surfaces. We treat the details for the case of annulus type minimal surfaces bounded by two disjoint closed rectifiable Jordan curves in $R^3$.
