Previous GAMM-Seminars

The first fifteen GAMM-Seminars were held at the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel in 1984 and 1986-1999. They were called Annual GAMM-Seminar Kiel. In 2000, the seminar has changed its title and location: The sixteenth seminar took place at the Max-Planck-Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences in Leipzig. Since then, it therefore has been referred to as the Annual GAMM-Seminar Leipzig.

Since the first seminar in 1984, Wolfgang Hackbusch has been organiser and chairman of all GAMM-Seminars. In most cases, organisation and chairmanship have been done in cooporation with other well known numerical mathematicians.
