A Multigrid Solver for the Navier-Stokes Equations Using Divergence-free Block-Iteration

We propose a new multigrid method for solving the Navier-Stokes equations on
quadrilateral or hexahedral meshes by means of the higher order finite elements
pairs (Qk,Pk-1disc) for k≥2. Our approach is based on a block
smoother where the blocks are defined by means of the divergence-free basis
of finite elements related to the considered pair (Qk,Pk-1disc).
Numerical tests validate the proposed approach.
