My name is Leonie Kayser (she/her) and I'm a PhD student in the Nonlinear Algebra Group under the supervision of Simon Telen. I completed two master's degrees at Leibniz University Hannover with theses on Waring decompositions of polynomials and on the computational complexity of Gröbner bases.

Currently my research interests include commutative algebra, projective algebraic geometry, tensors and moduli problems, with a focus on computational and complexity-theoretic aspects. I'm looking forward to learn about interesting applications of Nonlinear Algebra in the sciences during my doctoral studies.

Outside of mathematics, I enjoy making and listening to music, playing board games and speedrunning video games. In the summer you'll find me exploring the area around Leipzig on my bicycle.
