Sara Lamboglia completed her PhD in Mathematics at the University of Warwick in 2018 under the supervision of Diane Maclagan. She is now a postdoc in Frankfurt in the research unit on Uniformized Structures in Arithmetic and Geometry. In the fall she, will be a guest at The Institute for Computational and Experimental Research in Mathematics(ICERM) for the semester program on Nonlinear algebra.
Her research interests are in tropical and algebraic geometry with a particular focus on toric degenerations, Fano schemes and algebraic groups. She was also involved in creating the Macaulay2 package Tropical.m2 for tropical computations.
Sara visited MPI MiS during the workshop A Tropical Panorama where she presented her new paper on tropical Fano schemes.
