My name is Kevin Shu. I am a 4th year PhD student at the Georgia Institute of Technology under the supervision of Grigoriy Blekherman. My work is mostly in the intersection between algebraic geometry and convex optimization. My broad goal is to uncover interesting geometric features of optimization problems and use algebraic tools to understand those features. I hope to collaborate with many of the algebraic geometry experts at MPI MiS on these types of problems.
I am an avid rock climber and also enjoy crocheting small animals. My cat's name is Autumn.
