September 30, 2020

André Uschmajew is a Research Group Leader at MPI MiS. He has been working on low-rank approximation of matrices and tensors and their applications in optimization and scientific computing.

A particular focus of his research group Tensors and Optimization at MPI is on the geometry behind low-rank matrix and tensor varieties, and its implications on the applicability and convergence of numerical optimization methods for approximation and data analysis.
