  Professor Maria J. Esteban is a leading researcher in PDE and the calculus of variations. Especially she has made important contributions to the theory of the Dirac equations. She is Vice-President of the SMAI (Société de Mathématiques Appliquées et Industrielles) and a member of the National Committee of CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique).
