This mini-workshop is a continuation of the Wednesday seminars that were held in the fall of 2016, jointly between Einstein group “Non-linear algebra” at TU Berlin and the emerging group at MPI MIS Leipzig. It covers a wide range of topics in the field, such as algebraic geometry, combinatorics, convexity, statistics, optimization, and the interactions of these areas.
