Abstract
We will present an invitation to basic topics in commutative algebra and algebraic geometry. The lecture will be based on our new book with Bernd Sturmfels, see more info here. We plan to cover 2/3 of a big chapter per week. Apart from first three, the lectures will be mostly independent.Regular lectures: Winter semester 2019/2020
