Sharp local sparsity of regularised optimal transport

I will show how variational ideas can be utilised to understand the local shape of the support of regularised optimal transport maps. The approach relies on uniform interior regularity estimates for regularised optimal transport. I will explain how these can be obtained from harmonic approximation techniques. The talk is based on joint work with R. Gvalani and A. Gonzalez-Sanz.
