Our institute is playing a key role in the Dive into Research (DiR) workshop taking place from 10 August to 18 September 2026 at Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics, as part of the Combinatorial Synergies initiative.
This summer, 16 talented Bachelor's and Master's students are diving deep into hands-on research projects exploring combinatorics and its fascinating applications in algebraic statistics and game theory. After one week of lectures and problem sessions, they are divided into eight project groups, where they are guided throughout the program by experienced mentors, postdocs, and PhD students.
The workshop is organized by Benjamin Hollering and Irem Portakal from the MPI-MiS, together with local organizer Aida Maraj at MPI-CBG. This cross-institute collaboration brings together mathematical research expertise from MPI-MiS with the vibrant research environment at MPI-CBG.
A great example of collaboration between MPI-MiS and MPI-CBG!
