Jiajun Shi

Hi, my name is Jiajun Shi. I am a PhD student in the group Geometry, Groups and Dynamics, under the supervision of Prof. Anna Wienhard. I moved to Leipzig in October 2023 and before that I was based at University of Heidelberg. 

I am mainly interested in geometry and topology on surfaces, especially translation surface. It is a kind of surface which can be glued from some Euclidean polygons, so it inherits some properties of Euclidean geometry. But when genus is at least 2, it behaves more like hyperbolic geometry on large scale, which gives it rich geometry and dynamics. 

During my free time, I love playing soccer and cycling around lakes in Leipzig. Feel free to reach out to me if you want to play soccer together.
