Amy Huang

Amy Huang is a Ph.D. student from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and she is graduating this summer. She is going to join the research team under JM Landsberg this coming fall.

Her research primarily focuses on the interactions between representation theory, algebraic geometry, and commutative algebra. A broad theme in her work is the geometry of algebraic varieties under the presence of symmetries. Generally speaking, she enjoys finding equations and syzygies of varieties that are given by parametrization. Recently, she got interested in some topics related to representation stability. This is a subject trying to understand various stability results for sequences of spaces and objects with some type of symmetry.

Amy visited MPI MiS and gave a talk on "Equations of Kalman Varieties".
