Anna-Laura Sattelberger is a postdoctoral researcher in the Nonlinear Algebra group of Bernd Sturmfels at the MPI MiS. She finished her PhD in May 2019 at the University of Augsburg under the supervision of Marco Hien and Maxim Smirnov. In her PhD thesis, belonging to the field of Algebraic Analysis, she treated irregular singularities of D-modules arising from weighted projective lines.

With regard to her stay at the MPI MiS, she is excited about applying the theory of D-modules to problems in the sciences by going into Computational Algebraic Analysis. Moreover, she is looking forward to working on Topological Data Analysis with Christian Lehn.

Besides maths, she appreciates good coffee, likes to play and listen to some music, and enjoys hiking and climbing trips to the mountains or going for a monocycle tour.
