Christopher Eur

Christopher Eur is a fourth year PhD student at UC Berkeley Department of Mathematics. He completed his undergraduate studies at Harvard University in Mathematics.

His research interest concerns the interplay between algebraic geometry and combinatorics particularly in the context of matroids. His primary tool is intersection theory in various flavors, whether it be cohomological, K-theoretic, toric, or tropical. These days he is thinking about how to develop a Hodge theory of matroids in arbitrary classical Lie types. During his visit at MPI MiS, he worked on two projects that are first steps in such direction, concerning the tropical geometry and the K-theory of morphisms of matroids.

When not doing mathematics, Chris is either climbing, cooking, or sleeping.
