Claus Fieker's main research is in computational number theory and in the explicit design and implementation of algorithms in computer algebra system, branching out to applications e.g. in geometry, group theory, coding theory and cryptography. He spent more than 10 years in Sydney working on Magma before re-locating to Kaiserslautern where is now working on the Oscar-project.

In his free time, Claus enjoys various outdoor sports, most recently SUPing with his wife and family.
