Eunice Sukarto just finished her third-year undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley. She took a course on Nonlinear Algebra with Bernd Sturmfels in Spring 2020 where she studied orbit and orbit closure containments mentored by Ralph Morrison. She was supposed to be visiting MPI MiS over the summer to continue working on the project but unfortunately, her visit got canceled due to COVID-19. Nevertheless, she is really grateful to Bernd Sturmfels for all his help and support.
She is still exploring her mathematical interest. She is leaning towards algebraic topology but is scared of differential things. She hopes to learn algebraic geometry too and is trying to overcome her fear of category theory.
Besides math, Eunice loves classical music. Her favorite composers include Debussy, Ravel and Rachmaninoff.
