Maria Yakerson is a Hermann-Weyl-Instructor at ETH Zurich. Her research consists of investigating objects of algebraic geometry by methods of homotopy theory. She gave a talk at MPI MiS in 2021 at the Non-Linear Algebra Seminar with the title "The beauty of the beast: the Hilbert scheme of infinite affine space".

Besides research, she runs a YouTube channel "Math-Life Balance" where she makes entertaining interviews with mathematicians!
