Tara Fife is a postdoc at MPI in the Non-Linear Algebra Group. She got her PhD at Louisiana State University under the supervision of James Oxley. Her background is in structural matroid theory.

Tara has started to work on some of the problems involving matroids from the list of “3264 questions on symmetric matrices”. She is excited to learn more about, and to work in, the intersection between algebraic geometry and matroid theory.

Outside of mathematics, Tara knits Christmas stockings for nieces and nephews and is halfway through making a sweater. She also enjoys board games and cooking. Her favorite things to eat are Indian dishes.
