Valeria Bertini is a PhD student at the Tor Vergata University in Rome and at the Strasbourg University, under the guidance of Prof. Gianluca Pacienza and Prof. Antonio Rapagnetta. She will graduate in autumn 2019, and from the 1st of October 2019, she is going to start a 1-year postdoc at the University of Chemnitz, with Prof. Christian Lehn.
Her research focuses on the study of irreducible holomorphic symplectic varieties. In particular, during her PhD she investigated the existence of rational curves on such varieties, concluding some relevant consequences on the Chow groups of such varieties. She is visiting the MPI MiS to attend the seminar „Computing with D-modules II“ and to give a talk about symplectic varieties.
Besides mathematics, Valeria likes traveling, visiting around, listening to music and spending time with old and new friends.
