My name is Barbara Betti and I am a Ph.D. student at MPI MiS in the Nonlinear Algebra Group led by Bernd Sturmfels. I am from Genova, Italy, where I get my Master's Degree under the supervision of Dr.Rer.Nat. Alessio Caminata.
I am interested in commutative algebra, geometry, algebraic geometry and probably many things that I have yet to discover! During my Ph.D. I will work on solving nonlinear equations, Khovanskii bases and toric geometry.
Besides maths, I also love sports, I practice kickboxing and tennis and I play piano.
