Laura Casabella

My name is Laura Casabella and I have just started my PhD here at MPI MiS, under the supervision of Marta Panizzut. I obtained my Master’s degree through the ALGANT joint program, at the universities of Padova and Bordeaux. My thesis supervisor was Alessio Sammartano.

So far, I have had the occasion to study commutative algebra and combinatorics, including some computational aspects. For my PhD I am supposed to work with tropical geometry. This is just one of the many exciting topics studied in the Nonlinear Algebra Group that I am looking forward to learning. I also hope to get an insight into other members’ research.

Besides maths, I like classical music, cats, board games and baking.
