My name is Lizzie Pratt, and I am a first-year PhD student at UC Berkeley, visiting for the summer. I'm interested in the intersection of combinatorics and algebraic geometry. For example, my undergraduate senior thesis concerned effective divisors on toric varieties.
More recently I've been interested in applications to physics. Here in Leipzig, I'm working on applying algebraic techniques (namely, D-modules) to solve systems of PDEs arising from physics.
When not doing math, I enjoy climbing, running, drinking coffee, and reading comics. If you see me sitting next to the coffee machine, feel free to say hi, I always love to chat about math, physics, bouldering, or anything else!
