

Tony Lelievre: Numerical analysis of micromacro simulations of polymeric flu
id in a Couette flow
We will present the numerical and mathematical analysis of a m
icromacro model to simulate polymeric fluid flows.
More precisely, these kinds of models couple the evolution of the configurations
of polymers at the microscopic scale to the velocity field at the macroscopic
scale, through the stress tensor. From a mathematical point of view, the
microscopic evolution of the polymers is modeled through a Stochastic
Differential Equation and the evolution of the macroscopic quantities (velocity,
pressure) through the Navier Stokes equations. We will explain how we can
simulate and analyse this SDE / PDE coupled system in a simple case : a Couette
flow.
