Convergence of Metric Measure Spaces

Abstract

I explain the construction and basic properties of the Gromov-Prohorov metric on the space of metric measure spaces. The generated topology can be used, for example, to prove convergence of Galton-Watson trees (modelling genealogical trees) to the continuum random tree in the infinite population limit.
