Evolution of elastic systems with dissipation

Linear and nonlinear evolution equations modeling elastic systems with dissipation effects are considered, the investigation of the asymptotic behavior of solutions as time tends to infinity being the main topic.

First we give a survey on results in linear and nonlinear thermoelasticity - thermoelastic bars, membranes, contact problems. Second we report on recent research on magneto-thermo-elastic systems.
