General Relativity and Microlocal Analysis
- Peter Hintz (Massachusetts Institute of Technology)
Abstract
A central problem in the study of Einstein's equations of general relativity is to describe the behavior of particular solutions (such as flat spacetimes, or black holes) under perturbations. I will describe recent results related to the stability of black holes, emphasizing the role of methods from spectral theory and microlocal analysis and their relationship with numerics and experiments.
