On some recent results on the existence of globally defined solutions to the compressible Navier-Stokes equations

Abstract

We review some recent results on the existence of three-dimensional global in time compressible isentropic flows. In particular, positive existence results are given for the physically relevant values of the adiabatic exponent gamma > 3/2.
