Multiscale methods for boundary value problems
- Reinhold Schneider (Technische Universität Chemnitz)
Abstract
Recently, biorthogonal wavelet bases have been constructed to handle a wide variety of surfaces, domains and boundary conditions. I want to talk about two applications of this basis functions.
In the first part I want to give a survey of matrix compression for numerical treatment of boundary integral operators.
In the secaond part I want to present wavelet least squares formulations based on norm equivalences in negative Sobolev norms.
