Abstract
My plan is to talk about
- the value of examples
- the value and the limits of enumeration
- our limited tool-box of construction methods
- the challenges of explicit constructions
- the value of counter-examples
- the value and challenges of numerical computation
in polytope theory and to illustrate this with some of my favourite (open and solved) polytope problems from the last 35 years.
