A quantitative stability estimate for the Sobolev inequality

Abstract
In 1991 Binachi and Egnell proved a stability estimate for the Sobolev inequality using compactness arguments. In this talk I review recent joint work with Dolbeault, Esteban, Frank and Figalli that yields an estimate for the stability constant with the correct dimensional dependence that allows to obtain a stability estimate for the logarithmic Sobolev inequality.
