Marie-Charlotte Brandenburg is a PhD student at Freie Universität Berlin and is visiting the MPI in Leipzig during summer 2019. Her advisor is Rainer Sinn.

Her mathematical interests range from Combinatorics and Discrete Geometry to Algebraic Geometry and she recently discovered her fascination for Tropical Geometry. During her master, she studied the connection between polytopes and problems coming from economics.

While being in Leipzig, she also enjoys discovering many mathematical topics which are outside of her previous comfort zone. When she is not doing math, Marie-Charlotte enjoys reading a good book, going out for a run and spending time with friends.
