Laura Colmenarejo started to develop an interest for elegant formulas and nice combinatorial objects during her PhD at the University of Sevilla. That is why she is interested in Macdonald polynomials and their specializations and Kronecker coefficients. As part of her long-term projects, she would like to fully understand plethysm through combinatorial objects.
Now that she is a member of the Nonlinear Algebra group at MPI MiS, her research interest are widening and are starting to include topics like signatures of paths and information geometry. There are so many interesting theories to learn about and problems to work on!
Apart from being a mathematician, Laura enjoys good coffee, discovering new cities, and a good book or movie.
