Noémie Combe

September 2, 2019

Noémie Combe is a post-doc at MPIM in Bonn. She was awarded her PhD at Paris 6 and Aix-Marseille University(France) under the supervision of Bernard Coupet and Norbert A’Campo with a thesis on the Cech cover of the complement of the discriminant variety. She completed her master thesis at the University of Geneva in Switzerland under the supervision of Daniel Coray on connected components of real algebraic varieties.

Having a background in algebraic geometry, she is currently working with Yuri Ivanovitch Manin on moduli spaces of genus 0 curves with marked points, operads and Grothendieck-Teichmuller groups. Now, she is interested in Frobenius manifolds and corresponding statistical operads. She came to work with Bernd Sturmfels and to attend the amazing conferences at MPI MiS.

In addition to mathematics, Noémie is a professional violinist and enjoys dancing in her free time.
