Nonlinear Algebra People - 2022

Florian Frick

October 26, 2022

My name is Florian Frick, and I am an associate professor at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. After I received my PhD at TU Berlin and the Berlin Mathematical School, I spent time at Cornell and MSRI before joining CMU.

My research interests lie at the triple point of combinatorics, geometry, and topology. I develop geometric and topological methods for problems such as chromatic numbers of hypergraphs, embeddability questions in geometric topology, intersection patterns of convex sets, and fair division problems. I also enjoy traveling, sports, and (both the making and consumption of) food.
