Fulvio Gesmundo

July 21, 2020

Fulvio Gesmundo is currently a postdoc in the Math Department at the University of Copenhagen and will join the MPI Leipzig in the fall.

Fulvio's research is in algebraic geometry and representation theory, with a focus on problems arising in theoretical computer science and in quantum information theory. In particular, he studies geometric aspects of tensor decomposition problems: this area, with roots in the German Invariant Theory School of the 19th century and the Italian Algebraic Geometry School of the early 20th century, has numerous applications in several fields of theoretical and applied mathematics.

In his spare time, Fulvio likes spending time with his dog Willow and watching movies.
