Lukas Kühne is a PhD student at Hebrew University in Jerusalem under the supervision of Karim Adiprasito. Since June 2020 he is also a member at MPI MiS Leipzig. He already enjoyed the inspiring mathematical atmosphere while visiting MPI during his master’s at the University of Bonn.

In his, research Lukas likes to connect algebra and combinatorics, for example in the form of subspace arrangements. Currently, he is working on matroids and their generalized representations via entropy functions. He is keen on using the help of computers to explore problems. In Leipzig, he is looking forward to broadening his horizon by collaborating on new projects with people from MPI.

Outside of maths Lukas’ passions are trying or cooking new food, classical music and doing outdoor sports.
