Carlotta Langer

May 13, 2020

Carlotta Langer is a first-year PhD student under the supervision of Nihat Ay. She studied Mathematics at the Martin-Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. During that time she did an internship at the MPI in the group of Nihat Ay with the subject of iterative scaling algorithms that developed into a Bachelor and later a Master thesis.

Her PhD thesis is part of the DFG priority program “The Active Self” in which scientists from different disciplines study the sensorimotor grounding of the human minimal self. In this project she uses tools from Information Geometry to analyze the information integration in embodied systems. It is particularly interesting for Carlotta to work with scientists from other fields to gain new perspectives on a problem.

In her free time she likes to read and play the trumpet.
