My name is Julia Lindberg and I am a postdoc in the nonlinear algebra group at MPI MiS. I completed my PhD at the University of Wisconsin-Madison under the supervision of Jose Rodriguez and Bernie Lesieutre. Broadly speaking, I am interested in applied algebraic geometry with a specific interest in how algebraic techniques can be used to solve problems in optimization and statistics.
Outside of math, I enjoy traveling, cooking (mostly eating the food I’ve cooked) and spending time with my dog, Giselle.
