Hannah Markwig is a professor at the University of Tübingen. She works on tropical geometry and enumerative geometry.
She particularly likes concrete problems in mathematics and cannot enjoy a nice theory without knowing relevant examples. During her visit at MPI, she discussed many examples of tropical surfaces with the Nonlinear Algebra group. A very inspiring visit!
