Nonlinear Algebra People - 2022

Clemens Nollau

May 20, 2022

My name is Clemens Nollau. I am a math student at the University Leipzig, currently writing my diploma thesis at the Max-Planck-Institute. Here I'm investigating with colleagues branched covers arising from planar curves from many different view points.

My mathematical interests are classical algebraic geometry, especially algebraic curves and Kähler geometry. I love to go down the rabbit holes opened by Riemann, Noether, Grothendieck and so many others. Just by conversations and talks with other Nonlinear Algebra people I discovered how much there is still to learn in geometry. I'm very grateful for being able to work here.

In my freetime I am a long distance runner through the parks of Leipzig and I enjoy dancing as well as spending time with friends, playing cards.
