Maggie Regan is a PhD student at the University of Notre Dame being advised by Prof. Jon Hauenstein and will graduate in 2020. Her research focuses on problems in numerical algebraic geometry and numerical analysis. Mainly, her projects involve the use of homotopy continuation to solve parametrized systems of polynomial equations with applications to computer vision and kinematics.
Maggie is visiting MPI MiS to explore real algebraic geometry and D-modules under the guidance of Bernd Sturmfels. In addition, she looks forward to meeting and networking with other researchers.
Outside of math, Maggie enjoys swimming, reading, animals, and being outdoors. She has enjoyed the lakes of Leipzig!
