Taylor Brysiewicz is a fourth year PhD student at Texas A&M University visiting MPI for the summer.
His work focuses on the development and implementation of algorithms in numerical algebraic geometry. He enjoys running large computer experiments using these tools in order to find evidence for conjectures (especially those regarding real solutions to polynomial systems).
This summer he has been polishing his software which computes the Newton polytope of a hypersurface that arises as the image of a variety under a projection.
Besides watching his computations run, Taylor enjoys writing music and exploring Leipzig.
