Nonlinear Algebra People - 2022

My name is Xianglong Ni. I completed my undergraduate studies at MIT in 2018, where I was mostly thinking about algebraic topology, and now I'm a PhD student at UC Berkeley. These days I am investigating free resolutions in commutative algebra arising from representation theory, plus computer implementation thereof. I am visiting MPI MiS this summer to broaden my horizons and also see how syzygies might feature in other areas of nonlinear algebra.

I enjoy walks (both when thinking and not thinking about math!) and listening to music, especially that which is played by my sister, a violinist.
