A sequence of wave maps from to a compact Riemannian manifold N with uniformly bounded energy as weakly accumulates at a weak wave map . The result gives a new proof for the existence of global weak solutions to the Cauchy problem for wave maps on (1 + 2)-dimensional Minkowski space.
