During the week of September 15th - 19th we will organize the "Berlin-Leipzig hybrid seminar: Mathematics of Machine Learning". The seminar will take place in person at TU Berlin, and hybrid together with the MPI MiS Leipzig online. All participants are welcome to participate in person in Berlin, or online.

In this course we aim to get acquainted with some of the recent progress in the mathematical understanding of machine learning. We will focus on generative models, with an emphasis on diffusion models and flow matching. Participants are also very welcome to choose/suggest other topics, e.g. own work, or other preferences.

Active contribution in the form of a presentation of a recent research paper (to be chosen during the first meeting on Feb. 19th) is required for each participant. The focus lies on understanding the type of progress and results, rather than on technical details.

Please indicate your interest as soon as possible by sending an email to Benjamin Gess.
